Individual Therapy
Individual psychotherapy can benefit many people with a wide range of concerns, issues, or problems that can be both small or large. Finding the right fit with a therapist, someone you trust and feel safe with, is of utmost importance because together you and the therapist will work together to address these concerns, issues, or problems.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy or Psychoanalysis are depth approaches to understanding yourself. The main focus of these approaches is to understand how our experiences of the past and relationships with others have influenced who we are and how we move through the world.
These modalities are insight-based and are best for those who want to understand themselves on a deeper level, have been in therapy before and found it too limited in scope, or find they have trouble verbalizing what is difficult with life. I often work with those who have experienced complex traumas, as well as, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, sense of self, and other areas of concern.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy usually occurs 1-2 times per week depending on your specific individual goals.
Psychoanalysis occurs 4-5 times a week in a reclined position. I am currently a psychoanalytic candidate at the International Psychotherapy Institute
Both modalities can be online or in-person. To learn more about the differences between psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Learn more »
EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
This is an intervention used most often with people who have experienced complex trauma. EMDR, in conjunction with psychodynamic psychotherapy, can help individuals achieve a sense of relief in their bodies that talk therapy alone may not be able to achieve at all or as quickly. I do not offer EMDR in the early stages of treatment because I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is essential for the safety and efficacy of the EMDR method. I am able to offer EMDR using telehealth models.
